unexpected photography moments .... my fave so far!

These are my dear friends, Joey & Kara.  Kara wanted a romantic, kissing picture of her and Joey for their bedroom.  Joey was being a good trooper and I started snapping away when an unexpected lil vistor popped up in my lens view - their son, GRANT!!!

After a photoshoot and I'm editing pictures, I love seeing these!  Such great moments!

520 pride

I will be the first to admit, there is a certain pride being a cop's wife.  It's an interesting family you create; relationships that are definitely unique and very supportive.  For Halloween, I made each family on our squad a little goddie bag.  I attempted to make homemade mint chocolate brownies, but I totally screwed them up.  So, on to Plan B.  Not really sure what "Plan B" is just yet ... but I'm sure I can come up with something yummy.

Happy Halloween everyone!

the beib

I was taking this lil man's pictures and as I was looking at him, through the lens, I realized how much he looks like Justin Beiber.  As I turned around to look for Addi to show her, she was sitting RIGHT behind me!   She asked for a copy of the picture so she could put it in her room!

What do you think?  Do they look alike?

canvas paintings

I love canvas paintings and saw a pack of three canvas' at WalMart for only $4!  Oil paints were super cheap too ... only $6!  The kids LOVED this project ... and ... it made for some awesome art in the kids' play room!  It was also a good bonding activity for them, since they fight so much right now.  Sarge loved having his kids home.  He hung out with them the entire time.  So cute.

It was so fun to watch Logan play football again this year.  He is doing great and has really improved!  I bought me, Heath & Addison blue tees, then put Logan's number on our backs {gotta love Hobby Lobby}!

He's so wonderful.  He volunteered again this year to do the down's marker {not sure of it's real name}.  :)

Here are a few pictures from last weekend's game ....

dear sarge

Dearest Sarge -
You are truly my most favorite dog I've EVER had ... however ... I must get some housework done - like vacuming - and it's very hard when I see you resting so peacefully.

Please wake up so I can vacume without feeling guilty.

Love,
Mom

overwhelming graditude

Today I have an overwhelming sense of graditude. Nothing out of the ordinary has happened; Heath and I hardly ever see eachother, nothing has changed with the in laws - everything is still akward and uncomfortbale, there is still an insane amount of laundry that needs to be done, dog poop needs to be picked up, grocery shopping needs to be done, photoshoots need to be edited, cars needs to be washed, garage needs to be cleaned out, beds need to be made, my full time job greets me every morning, I'd love to make it to the gym if I had any spare time ... the list just continues and it seems to be never ending, but this morning as I was doing some dishes, I went to the fridge and took a second to really look at the pictures and drawings that have been there every day.

Maybe I am feeling an overwhelming sense of graditude because, before work, my best friend {Heath} and I took Sarge to the dog park and laughed, like we always do. Maybe it's because of the random text I got from my little brother, this morning, quoting our favorite movie {The Hangover}. Maybe it's because of the Father's Day book Kaiden made for Heath on all the reasons why he's a "Super Dad" ... including the front cover that says its because of how he treats all THREE kids. Maybe it's because of the sweet note Addi drew for me one time while at her Dad's for a long weekend; telling me how bad she wants to see me "right now". Maybe it's seeing our first "family" photo in front of an airplane, taken while we were on our first trip as a "family". As I am looking over everything, that has become my life, I am over come with joy, love and peace. I can't even begin to describe the love I have in my heart for Heath, Logan, Addi & Kaiden ... and Sarge and for the family we have become. I couldn't possibly ask for a better life. I am truly blessed.

home sweet home

Beautiful farm sunsets, dairy cows and mom's homemade cherry & apple crepes .... I love h*o*m*e!

photoshoots in cali

Alright. So I have been "addicted" to Facebook and need to get back to my roots - blogging. I used to be so good about it, but since dating Heath, I find that we get so crazy busy, that I get overwhelmed even thinking about uploading, editing then blogging. But, Facebook has seemed to cause some unnecessary drama, that I think it's time to get back to good 'ol blogging.

Last week, Heath and I took a road trip to CA, to visit my folks and take pictures. I had so much being being home; the smells, the food, the landscape ... I needed this trip home! I also loved seeing some friends I haven't seen since High School. It was so neat to meet their families {finally} and get some long overdue hugs from some familiar faces. Here are some of my fave shots!

{Miss L}
This sweet girl was born half way through her pregnancy. She was smaller than a dollar. Now just look at her - she's wonderful! I love Miss L's personality and love. Her hugs are the best! She was so cute, during pictures, she whipped out her toy camera she put in her pocket and started taking pictures with me. LOVED it!

{S*L*F}
These three girls belong to a dear friend of mine. Amanda and I have been friends since Jr. High. It was so fun to see her after all these years and meet her hubby ... and three perfect daughters!

{Sweet V}
This beautiful girl is the step-daughter of Dayna. Dayna and I have been friends since Jr. High, as well. She is Autistic and just as sweet as can be. She is expecting a little brother early next year.

{blue eyed T}
This beautiful babe was sooo stinkin sweet! I loved taking her pictures! Her mommy went to the same High School as me, but graduated a few years after I did. It was so fun to meet her, her hubby and this sweet, beautiful girl.

{sassy K}
This sassy gal and my Addi would get along sooo well! She is the daughter of my friend Meshell. Meshell and I have been friends since Jr. High. Her mommy is a dear friend of mine whom I just adore and admire. Great woman.

Thank you to all my friends who were so excited for me to come into town and take your family pictures. I had so much fun seeing y'all! I can't wait for my next photo shoot trip home. Dates to be announced.
