first play

Addi had her first play yesterday, it was so cute. These are her favorite friends from her class - minus Kiana, of course. Aren't these kiddos just the cutest??!!!

Good job, Ads! We are so proud of you!!

I hesitated on posting this one, but Heath says I should ... "it's a classic Kindergarten play" ... Addi and her friends are hams ... and one poor little girl got caught, digging for gold. :)

greer

Last weekend we went to Greer for a long weekend, with his squad. It was such a nice and welcomed break from reality!!

This was THE most amazing cabin ever! You couldn't beat the view, the sights and the company.

This lake was frozen - completely iced over. We could hear water underneath moving around, it was so unreal.

Heath dared me to stand on this little snow bridge over the running river ... he knows me all too well ... I can't pass up a dare!

Heath carving "H + J" on this tree

Just breathtaking!!

Some of the boys: Ryan and Jason

This is Ryan doing his famous, "The Carlton" ... for those who know 'The Fresh Prince' ... soooo funny!!!

Some of the guys playing poker

On our way home, we stopped in Pinedale to see the Goodman Family Ranch. The Goodman's have about 500 acres for their posterity. These are two of the original buildings built by his grandfather when they first bought the lands from the Indians. Some of the land is ancient burial grounds the Indians used. It was really cool!!

We were in no rush to get back, so we also stopped in Payson at the Tonto Natural Bridge. We were so bummed to learn that they are closing THIS week, indefinitely, due to the economy. This is one of my favorite places to visit in Northern Arizona. I've taken the kiddos here several times to hike - it's just beautiful!

a favorite day

Every other Monday is one of my FAVORITE days! It's when I get the kiddos back after a long weekend without them. This afternoon we played on the play ground with our friends after school then came home and went swimming .... gotta love swimming in Feb! We are so lucky!!

Welcome home, Addi & Logan!

i'm going to be a ladybug when i grow up

Dear Addi,
For the longest time when I would ask you what you're going to be when you grow up, you tell me "a ladybug". This drives your brother CRAZY because he's so black and white, play by the rules, logical little man.

This morning on my way to work, I passed Dobson High School in Mesa, like I do every morning. I totally forgot President Obama was speaking at this high school today. The streets were lined with swarms of people awaiting the President's arrival. The economy is really bad right now and everyone is a little on edge on the future of the US.

I finally made it to my office. It's such a beautiful day, I decided to open the blinds. I'm glad I did. I saw a family of THREE little turtles, all huddled together on a floating dock, in the middle of the lake outside my office window. I see them often. They seem to have such an easy and slow pace of life. As I listened to the helicopters hover above and think about what the future holds for our Nation, as the President is giving his speech, I decided that I want to be a turtle when I grow up!!

I love you Addi!

Dearest Logan -
I can't tell you just how easy of a kid you are. It only takes me whispering in your ear that it's time to get up for your treatment and UP YOU POP, like a good boy. This is a picture from tonight's 11PM treatment.

You are so sweet, laying with your puppy, completely asleep on the couch. The only thing you could say to me as I put you back in bed was, "Sorry I'm so heavy, Mom".

I love you so much Logan!!

breathing treatments

A few days ago I get a call from Logan's dad. He and his wife took Logan into the Urgent Care for breathing problems. The doctors are thinking it could be asthma. Logan's dad has severe asthma problems, so there is a good possibility. They are doing some testing to see how his lungs respond to some breathing treatments so he came home from their house with this fun contraption!

He is on round the clock treatments; waking this guy up every 4 hours is such a joy - he's soooo good at doing his treatment, then back to sleep!! Thanks for being so awesome, Logan!!

Sweet Heath even stayed up to hang out with Logan while he was doing his 11pm treatment. Logan was totally alseep, until he saw Heath. Then he perked up and they just sat on the floor and chatted while Logan was doing his treatment. These two are sooo cute together. It was fun to watch them.
( Sorry babe for posting this picture of you in your jammies ... )

This morning, sister woke up early with Logan for his 7AM treatment. Normally, I let them sleep until 7:30 or so.

Here are some pictures from our visit to see Curtiss at Ft. Huachuca.

We had a blast!!!

Checking out the border of US/Mexico. That's it!! Not sure what I was expecting ... oh yeah, I know ... I was thinking I'd see the beach!! :)

This would be the fence holding back the illegals ... hmmmm ...

It didn't hold us back so well ...

Sooo busted boys!!!

Thanks for the referral, Tara!! I had so much fun taking the Palmer's pictures at their home and at the Temple last week. What an adorable family. Best of luck in Utah!!!!

happy love day 2009

Today was THE best Valentine's Day I have ever had. Yes, I can say that confidently, it was THE best!!!

Around noon, me and the kiddos headed over to Heath's. The plan was to take the kids to the Arabian Horse Show in Scottsdale, but Logan hasn't been feeling well, so we stayed at Heath's - watched movies, played the Wii ... and just chilled. Heath and I exchanged cards and Heath bought the kids a card too. It was THE best afternoon!!!

Heath made yummy burgers for dinner and surprised us with heart-shaped patties!! How sweet is this guy??!!!

While Heath was bbq'ing, Logan played Legos ...

Addi played on the laptop....

And I baked cupcakes!! (thank you to mom who sent all the essentials to make valentine's cupcakes)

After "the best burgers" (as the kids dubbed them), we went for a swim!!

Heath - I am sooo lucky to have you as my Valentine!! There are so many things I just adore about you. Things I never thought I'd find in a man. Thank you for the best Valentine's Day ever!!

Logan - Thank you for being such an amazing son. You are such a joy in my life.

Addi - You are one of my best friends!! Thanks for being such a fun daughter.

such a lovely tuesday afternoon

Today was such an awesome Tuesday afternoon! When I picked up the kiddos from school we went to Heath's and hung out by the pool. We needed a relaxing afternoon. I love living in Arizona!

Tonight we met Heath and a few other of his squad mates at Elmer's Tacos for dinner. My new favorite place to eat! It's sooo yummy!!!

tim & willy

I know it's been forever since I last posted. I need to download and edit some pictures so I can "properly" post. You know me, I can't post without pictures ... they just aren't the same! :)

We have been staying busy. Heath is officially moved into his new pad. It's sooo nice to have him 4 miles down the road. Almost every day the kiddos and I hang out at his place for the park, heated pool and hot tub! There are so many kids at his new place, Logan & Addi have made some good friends.

On Thursday, Heath and I went out with his friends, Ginger & Lora, to Graham Central Station in Tempe for a concert. Tim & Willy are two radio personalities that are coming back to our favorite radio station. Darrell Worley performed as well.

Friday night we drove to Sierra Vista to see my brother. We went out to dinner Friday night then hung out all day Saturday. I am excited to share pictures. We went to the Mexico/AZ border on the base (Ft. Huachuca), went shooting and got a tour around the base. It was a lot of fun to spend some quality time with Curtiss. AND ... it was mine and Heath's first road trip.

Saturday night we went to a little dive bar for some country dancing with Lora, Gary and Tara.

Tonight I went to see 'He's Not That Into You' with 11 other gals then went to dinner at Charleston's (yuuum). Tara gets a group of gals together each month to see a chick flick. Heath and Gary (Tara's hubby) are on the same squad. It's so much fun to make new friends.

Pictures to come ... Hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well!!

i {heart} addison

My love for this child is seriously indescribable!! We have been through sooo much together!! She is one of my best friends! Here is a picture of us, lookin' pretty, before a church meeting.

Below is Addi dancing in the car. Oh heck, this kid is hilarious! My FAVE thing about her is that she has such high confidence!

I love you Ads! Thanks for being such a great example to me and one of my most favorite people!!!
